Nathaniel Rogers Sr.

Nathaniel Rogers was born on January 4, 1929, in Simonton Texas to Ollie & Carrie Rogers. He was well known to many family and friends as “Buddy“. he grew up in the Simonton area where he attended public school. He resided between Brookshire & Simonton most of his life.

He later worked for Neighboring Farms (Pecan Acres), Figure 4 Ranch & Spring Branch ISD as a custodian. Buddy spent his life as a cowboy tending to the needs of family farming as well.

Nathaniel married Phoebie Mae Lewis on September 21, 1959. To this union, they were blessed with the following children:

Maurice Jones, Debra Jones, Violetta k. Shelton, Nathaniel Rogers, Jr., Kevin Rogers, Roy Rogers, & Sherrel Rogers.

On November 29, 2023, God‘s purpose for Nathaniel Rogers, Sr. was fulfilled. His name was called and he answered. He transitioned from his earthly labor to receive his heavenly reward. Nathaniel was preceded in death by his father: Ollie Rogers, his mother: Carrie Rogers, his wife: Phoebie Reeves, his son: Maurice Jones, his brother: C.D. Rogers and his sisters: Eula Mae Taplin, Adell Love, Erma Phillips, Annie Lee Harris, and Lola B. Parker.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his sister: Allie Parker (Nat), his children: Debra Jones, Violetta K. Shelton (Riley), Nathaniel Rogers, Jr , Kevin Rogers, Roy Rogers, & Sherrel Rogers and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
