Evelyn Rose Vaughn Garcia

Evelyn Rose was born May 3, 1953, to Mildred and Carrie Vaughn in their home in Brookshire TX. Evelyn was the 10th child of 12 children. She attended Ralph J Bunche and later finished at Royal High School.

Evelyn Rose had two children Gabrielle Vaughn and Joseph Vaughn who she cherished and loved dearly. Later in life, she was blessed with her grandchildren, Ashli Harris, Dominic Vaughn, Cameron Vaughn, Raven Vaughn, Raea Vaughn, Nina Acosta, and Naelle Navarro.

She devoted her life to God and was a longtime member of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Lee Jones Jr. She served faithfully as the church clerk and President of the Pastor Aide and member of several other committees up until she fell ill. She was also President of the Ministers Wives committee for the Mt. Zion Lively Hope District Association.

Evelyn Rose later in life met her husband Rev. Louis Garcia and they were married the month of May, the year 2000.

She Is preceded In death by both her parents. Mildred and Carrie Vaughn; Brothers. Embry (Leon) Vaughn, Connie Vaughn, and Eugene (Geno) Vaughn.

Evelyn Rose leaves to cherish her memories: Her loving husband Rev Louis Garcia, Her children, Gabrielle and Joseph Vaughn (Nora); Stepchildren: Theresa Garcia, Natasha Garcia, Deandre Garcia; Grandchildren: Ashi Harris, Dominic Vaughn, Cameron Vaughn, Raven Vaughn, Raea Vaughn; Stepgrandchildren: Nina Acosta, Naelie Navarro, Makayla Garcia, Louis Garcia II; Aunt: Selena Thompson; Sisters: Mildred Lewis and Gussie Baker; Brothers: Carl Vaughn (Minnie), John Vaughn, Melvin Vaughn (Dee-Dee), Ray Vaughn (Pat), Erner Vaughn (Christine), and Stanley Vaughn (Queen) and a host of nieces and nephews.
