Lloyd Mathews

August 29, 1953, Lloyd was born to Marvin Mathews, Sr. and Nadine Alexander Mathews of Oakwood, Texas.  Lloyd began his foundation of faith at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church where he was baptized by Reverend W.M. Richardson.  He attended public school until graduation from Oakwood High.  Shortly after, he would leave Oakwood to find himself stationed in Brookshire, TX.  The place where he would go on to create his family and leave his legacy.

February 29, 2024, Lloyd would go on to leave this side of Heaven.

He leaves to cherish his memory: His sons, Lloyd Lovings (Sarah) of San Antonio, TX: Eric Mathews (Jazmine) of San Diego, daughters Tyson Mathews-Riggins (Jeremy) of Hockley, TX; Kelsey Wilson (Johnnie) of Brookshire, TX.  These combinations produced him 11 grandchildren: Jaelyn Lovings, Jakobe Lovings, Elijah Mathews, Aliyah Wilson, Rayne Mathews, Aniyah Wilson, Ryleigh Mathews, Josiah Mathews, Ryann Riggins, Kaleb Mathews, Jr., Raegan Riggins and one greatgranddaughter: Genesis Nicole.

He also leaves behind one brother, Marvin Mathews and five sisters: Beverly Watkins, Mary Mathews, N.V. Mathews, MarvaDean Mathews and Ruby Mathews.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Seleta Mathews; his Mother, Nadine Mathews; his Father, Marvin Mathews: and Brothers; Charles Mathews and Miles Mathews.
